by , Knowing Growing Showing Indigenous Consumer And Financial Literacy Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Knowing Growing Showing Indigenous Consumer And Financial Literacy books, This framework document underpins Knowing Growing Showing, a suite of teaching, learning and assessment material to support teachers to tailor and customise the delivery of consumer and financial literacy to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners from early schooling to secondary schooling. Knowing Growing Showing draws upon the literature and evidence in Indigenous consumer and financial literacy and education and then translates it into advice to facilitate culturally responsive and effective teachers of Indigenous learners. The research provides the foundation from which Knowing Growing Showing resources (lesson guides, assessment advice, and teaching material) have been devised. More specifically, it provides teachers with an overview, advice and guidance regarding: 1. WHAT? What is Knowing Growing Showing: explaining the resources in a nutshell; 2. WHY? The Context: why financial and consumer literacy is important in Indigenous contexts; 3. WHO? The Learners: understanding Indigenous learners; and 4. HOW? The Teaching: a guide to teaching and assessing Indigenous learners in consumer and financial literacy. [ACEReSearch].

Small Town Graces

by Ken Chapman, Small Town Graces Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Small Town Graces books, There is an old yarn about a stranger passing through a small town. The stranger stopped for gas and a soft drink at a service station. Seeing an old timer seated on a bench, the stranger decided to engage the man in a conversation. "Have you lived here all your life?" he asked. Reflecting on the question for a moment, the old timer responded, "Not yet." Just like the old-timer in the preceding story, we too need to reflect on the things that matter the most in our lives so that we can joyfully say "Not yet." Each story in this collection will help the reader reflect on the graces that many of us feel are in short supply in our hurried, fast-paced lives. These graces, though difficult to describe or define, show us that the simple things are often most profound and are at the center of our lives in our best moments. In Small Town Graces, Dr. Chapman shares some of these graces which have come to him over the years.

Queens Of Academe

by Karen W. Tice, Queens Of Academe Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Queens Of Academe books, Universities are unlikely venues for grading bodies, beauty, poise, and style. Nonetheless, thousands of college women have sought not only college diplomas but campus beauty titles and tiaras throughout the twentieth century, and the cultural power of beauty pageants continues into the twenty-first. In Queens of Academe, Karen W. Tice asks how, and why, does higher education remain in the beauty and body business and with what effects on student bodies and identities. Drawing on archival research and interviews as well as hundreds of hours observing college pageants on predominantly black and white campuses, Tice argues the pageants help to illuminate the shifting iterations of class, race, religion, culture, sexuality, and gender braided into campus rituals and student life. Moving beyond a binary of objectification versus empowerment, Tice offers a nuanced analysis of the making of idealized collegiate masculinities and femininities, and the stylization of higher education itself.
